Delta Controls Ltd has supplied Nuclear Power and Processing plants for more than 35 years. We have been chosen as a preferred supplier to many installations as we not only manufacture accurate and reliable instruments but also understand our customer’s needs, often modifying existing products to perform beyond the norms of accuracy or response.
As a minimum all Delta Controls switches are designed and validated in accordance with BS6134: 1991 for applications up to 1000bar.
Additionally for Nuclear applications our switches have been independently validated as follows: -
Model W301 - tested by SIRA on behalf of CEGB (Central Electricity Generating Board) for performance to GEGB specification 5111/SW.
Models W201 and W301 – have been Seismically Qualified as ‘Field Mounted Instruments’ for use in the Safety Shutdown System.
Model W201 - tested by SIRA on behalf of CEGB for performance testing based on CEGB GDCD standard 236.
Model A301 - tested for use in containment areas including Design Based Accident and Seismic. This was a special build to resist exposure to radiation over 5 to 20 years.
Model W301 - tested by Delta Controls as requested by British Energy to re-qualify for use. All tests were witnessed by ALSTEC.
Various models of the Performance series (200,300 and 700 models) were purchased for use in Category 1 Equipment, Class 1E based on IEEE standard 627-1980.
